Te Kohekohe, Kaikohe's co-built social housing project
Te Hau Ora o Ngāpuhi (THOON) and Far North Housing Ltd, a subsidiary within the Far North Holdings Limited group, has completed stage one of three of their community housing project in Kaikohe.
The project will see a total of 60 much-needed new 1, 2 and 3 bedroom homes in central Kaikohe, with the initiative being the country’s first-ever co-owned, co-built housing development.

Far North Holdings Limited recognises iwi and hapū have a strong historical association with Te Hiku o Te Ika and in turn, the whenua (land) where many of FNHL assets or community projects lie.
FNHL acknowledges mana whenua have occupied this whenua over many generations, seeking to maintain their relationship with the land and sea. FNHL is committed to having strong, respectful partnerships with mana whenua across all projects and developments across Te Hiku and Te Tai Tokerau.
