Opua Marine Industrial Park

The Opua Marine Park, or your 'one stop' Marine Park, is conveniently situated between the Opua Marina and Ashby's Boatyard. It presently consists mainly of three multi-tenanted industrial buildings owned by FNHL. However, due to increasing demand, a new Marina Building comprising commercial office and retail units has been constructed and was opened in November 2008.

The area currently accommodates:

  • Haul out and hard stand
  • Spar and rigging manufacturer and repairer
  • Marine painter

  • Marine and General Engineers
  • Stainless engineers
  • Marine electronics
  • Sail maker
  • Canvas repair

This busy hub of the Bay of Islands marine sector hosts the hundreds of overseas vessels and their crews that arrive into Opua each year as their first point of entry into New Zealand.

It also provides goods and services to the many visiting and local boats and crews occupying the Marina, using the Boatyard and enjoying the Bay of Islands.

Opua - Lyon Street Industrial Units

In 2006/7, a continued strategy to provide tenancy opportunities for new businesses saw the construction in February 2007 of:

  • six industrial units
  • eight garage/storage units

All industrial units and four garage/storage units are tenanted.
