Far North Holdings Ltd was pleased to host the Annual Bay of Islands (BOI) Cruise Ship Conference at Copthorne Waitangi Treaty Grounds on October 5, which was attended by various industry partners, local hapū and Iwi representatives, as well as local community organisations and stakeholders.
FNHL business development manager Irwin Wilson was the MC for the day and spoke about the upcoming 2023/24 cruise ship season and some of the activities and initiatives being planned in and around Pēwhairanga Bay of Islands to support the incoming cruise ships and their passengers.
NZ Cruise Ship Association CEO Jacqui Lloyd also gave a presentation about current local and global trends in the industry and talked about some of the challenges for the cruise ship industry over the past few years and the impact that has had on the industry moving forward.
The cruise ship season has now begun, with a number of larger ships due to start coming in from October 16 through to April next year.
