Far North Holdings has delivered a total dividend of $5 million to Far North District Council for the financial year ended 30 June 2026. This was made up of a $1.6 million dividend paid in February and a further dividend of $3.4 million paid in June.
The result follows $5.5 million in dividends paid for the previous financial year and reflects another year of strong financial performance for the council-owned company.

The dividend has been generated through strong operational performance and a disciplined approach to improving its commercial assets and financial performance. Operating profits have been boosted by realised gains from the sale of properties that no longer aligned with the company's long-term objectives for its asset portfolio, together with development gains achieved across the business in recent years.
This achievement is particularly pleasing given the challenging economic conditions that have persisted in the wake of the Middle East fuel crisis, placing continued financial pressures on our customers.
Chief Financial Officer Lisa Parkes says,
"As a council-controlled trading organisation, we are proud to generate returns that can be reinvested by our shareholder for the benefit of the wider community."
Chief Executive Andy Nock says,
"Our responsibility is to actively manage the council's commercial assets in a way that delivers lasting value for our shareholder and ultimately for the people of the Far North."
He adds that maintaining a balance between day-to-day operations and managing the portfolio remains central to the company's long-term approach.
"Strong operational performance provides the foundation, while careful management and development of our portfolio allows us to unlock further value and reinvest capital where it can deliver the greatest long-term benefit.”
Far North Holdings Limited is the commercial arm of Far North District Council. It manages property, maritime and transport assets on behalf of Far North ratepayers, with a focus on growing investment, creating employment opportunities and delivering long-term value for Northland communities.
The annual dividend reflects Far North Holdings’ commitment to balancing commercial performance with responsible stewardship of strategic assets, ensuring they continue to deliver positive outcomes for both current and future generations.
