A key annual event for the maritime and local community, the Cruisers Festival is an annual six day event held at The Bay of Islands Marina in Opua. Running from 18th through to the 23rd November, Bay of Islands Marina will be welcoming vessels and crew that are completing an ocean passage into New Zealand alongside anyone interested in the marina community, boats and blue water sailing.
The festival invites local and international sailors, enthusiasts, and newcomers to immerse themselves in a world of maritime knowledge and adventure. The programme has featured a traditional Māori welcome and continues throughout the week with informative marine events and seminars showcasing the latest advancements in boating services and marine technology. Attendees can also enjoy social gatherings, boat trips and barbecues.
A key event is the Pacific Cruisers Cup to be held on Friday 22nd November , a race that navigates the stunning waters of the Bay of Islands, culminating in a grand finale celebration.
