Steel framing now rising above Broadway marks a major milestone in the new Kaikohe Library and Civic Hub development.
Set on the corner of Broadway and Raihara Street, the structure reveals the true scale of a project – shaped by strong community input and long-term planning.

The multi-purpose hub will be a vibrant space for learning, connection and creativity across the Far North. Alongside library collections, it will feature a Maker Space for tamariki, meeting rooms, a gaming room, recording booth and café.
Named Te Āta Haere by local hapū, construction began in August 2025. With foundations complete and framing underway, roofing and exterior cladding are next, bringing the $14.6m investment closer to completion in 2026.

Funded through the council’s Long Term Plan 2024–27, this project represents a significant investment in Kaikohe’s future.
Far North Holdings is leading the project management for this exciting development, guiding the build from concept through to delivery as this important community asset takes shape.
